ZOMBIE BLOG HOP!!

Morning!  I have a prize that I'm offering which I will tell you about at the end of this post.  I want to thank Author Jolie Du Pre for allowing me to participate! I can't wait to read all the great posts and get an idea of everyones view on Zombies!

I can't tell you all how excited I am to be here talking about Zombies!  Only my most favorite topic--like EVER!  My fascination started with ZombieLand and when The Walking Dead began on AMC, I was completely hooked!

As a medical professional, I have taken a serious look at how viruses have mutated and spread over the centuries.  Personally witnessing how the H1N1 (swine flu) killed patients in my ICU unit, I think it is completely plausible that a mutation could occur and have a Zombie-like effect on dead tissue, thus bringing dead corpses back to life.  Of course, this is just my own humble opinion.  But look at all the side affects vaccinations and medication have on the human body.

We only get one life on this earth.  I try to spend mine by helping others through my work as an intensive care nurse and by treating my own body as healthy as possible.  I am by no means a health nut, but I exercise.  And yes I do eat junk/fast food and drink the occasional beer or glass of wine in moderation.  After all, I do have to live. Right? LOL.

A lot of people I know have been getting involved in marathons and triathlons and such.  Those just haven't really appealed to me.  But what I happened to stumble upon recently was this: RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!! A Zombie infested 5k obstacle race! You can find the details here:  http://www.runforyourlives.com/   It is sort of like flag football.  You are given flags which signifies your "health" and the Zombies try to take your health away.  There are races scheduled all around the country.  I'm hoping to do the one in California in May, 2013 because the one here in Arizona where I live isn't until November, 2013 and I don't want to wait that long! LOL.

What's better than running from Zombies, an Apocalypse party, and camping?  I can't think of anything else I'd rather be doing.  So far, I have about 4 on my team.  Here are a couple of photos taken from the Run For Your Lives Website!

I'd love to hear what you think.  They say if you learn the basics for Zombie survival, you can survive any disaster to hit!  Are you prepared? Do you think you're ready for a Zombie Apocalypse?  Do you have food? Water? Medical supplies? Weapons? How will you keep in contact with others? CB radios?  I doubt even the very young generations even have the slightest idea what a CB radio is!  It is totally different than texting, that's for damn sure!

My kids just shake their heads and chalk my obsession up to my weirdness...But now they're all super hooked on The Walking Dead, too! Chips off the old block, tee hee...

Okay, now for the good part!  I am offering a $25 Amazon Gift Card as a prize! To be eligible, you need to leave a comment on how you plan to survive the Zombie Apocalypse along with a valid email address and click to follow my blog! Tomorrow, I will randomly draw a name out of a hat.

Can't wait to see what you all come up with! Now, I'm back to my Zombie Survival Training...Which you can follow my progress on Nike+ running app!  Now don't forget to check out the other authors participating in today's Zombie Blog Hop here: http://www.preciousmonsters.com/
