What’s so funny?” Dr. Lassiter asked.
Faith stiffened and her amusement died. Damn. She’d hoped to be at lunch when he arrived to check on Mrs. Humphrey. Fate was definitely against her today.
Turning, she came face to face with him. She stepped back and bumped the rail of the bed. “Nothing. Just thinking about something that happened earlier. It kind of tickled my funnybone, that’s all.”
“Why don’t you tell me what’s so amusing?”
“I’m not in a particularly sharing kind of mood.” His scent crossed the inches of space he’d left between them, teasing her senses. He smelled of lemons and spice.
Hmmmm. His own brand of lemonade.

Hmmm... I think fate might be WITH her today!
(BTW, I think your formatting got messed up when you pasted & you're missing some spaces between words, but I was able to figure it out. :)
Mmmm...lemonade. Yum. :D I am jealous of her...I wouldn't mind some lemonade ;)
Ha! Colette you are right! blogger has been doing that when I publish a post from my iPhone. I fixed it though. Thank you!
I love lemonade, too, Sarah. And these two characters make me laugh the way they are both so hard headed!
