“Wait,” he interrupted. “I’m not sure where things went wrong
this morning, but I want to apologize.” He brought his hands forward and exposed an enormous square box. “I’m not above using bribery to get what I want.” His gaze burned with intense heat. “And, I want you.”
Her heart fluttered against her ribcage. She tried to ignore the
excitement coursing through her veins and peered at the package in his grasp. Gold script, with a familiar emblem a few shades darker than the container itself, teased her. Her eyes widened. She gasped.
Godiva Chocolate?
Her knees trembled. She leaned heavily against the door. Oh, she was in T-R-O-U-B-L-E.
As a side note, one of the heart surgeons I work with read this book. When he told me he had loved it and asked "Where can I get your next book?" I was thrilled and about died from embarressment at the same time! I never expected him to READ my story I'd written about a fictional heart surgeon!! When you read Dr. Lassiter's story, you will know why! LOL
Enjoy the rest of your day!

You had me at the mention of chocolate, lol. I used to work retail and we sold Godiva chocolates at the store where I worked, so I knew exactly what the brand was before I read it. That stuff is sinfully delicious...and any man willing to bring a woman some Godiva is a keeper. ;)
Great hook! As you know, I really enjoyed this story too and can't wait for your next one.
;)

Haha! Cute! I hope it was dark chocolate - at least that's good for the heart!
We don't have Godiva chocolates here, so i don't know how good they are, but it does my heart good to see a romantic heroine who has her priorities right.
Godiva and a hot man... What more could we ask for?!
I need a bite of that Godiva to go with my morning coffee! Congratulations on the heart surgeon reading your book. That's wonderful!
Oh, yes, I think he is forgiven. LOL Great hook! :)
Chocolate has the exact same effect on me... now I want chocolate lol! Great snippet :)
Ha ha ha, a woman after my own heart! And he is smooth, I have to say. I need to read more!
Such a sweet excerpt! Chocolate has that effect on me too. ;) And I love that a heart surgeon wants to read your book, that's fantastic!
Chocolate has a lot to answer for :-0
Mmm, Godiva...
I remember when an ex of mine used to bring me to Ben & Jerry's, lol. Ice cream is my Achilles Heel! Definitely trouble!
You can't just turn him away when he's bearing Godiva chocolates! Great hook!
How could anyone resist chocolate! Way to go man!
