So, what do you think? Ready to play? So let's talk firsts here. First love, to be exact. That's what the Rites of Spring is all about. Fist kiss, first love, first time sex for a character... This plays in well with my current release, Dating Impossible. My heroine, Dr. JJ Jone's first love is my hero, Dr. Cruz Avery. She had a secret crush on him in high school that she'd thought time and distance had cured her of before she'd come back to town and started working with him. No longer that gangly, awkward teenager, she'd matured into a woman with curves that Cruz definitely takes notice of. Here's a snippet of JJ's thoughts when she has a moment to step back and check Cruz out:

Excerpt:
Her childhood crush was just that. A crush. She was no longer the gangly, flat-chested, awkward girl who longed for Cruz Avery’s love and attention. Without conceit, she was well aware her beanpole figure had developed curves in all the right places and her double D’s drew a man’s notice. They had certainly drawn Cruz’s attention just now. Her lips curved in pure feminine satisfaction. About fucking time!

Unable to resist, she snuck a peek in Cruz’s direction. As best man, he stood on the groom’s side of the altar. His attention should’ve been on his brother and Roxanne, but instead, he stared openly at her. His smoky grey gaze held a definite interest. He inclined his head.

Outwardly, she knew she presented the picture of calm, but her stomach fluttered with exhilaration. The teenage girl that still lurked inside of her wanted to jump up and down, screaming at the top of her lungs. God, she would’ve amputated her right arm for him to look at her like that when she’d been in high school.

Easily six feet tall, he’d slicked his short black hair to the side in his usual style. Clinically, she continued her assessment. Chiseled jaw? Check. Sensual mouth? Check. Broad shoulders that filled out his tuxedo jacket to a perfect “T”? Double check. Heat spread across her cheeks.

Yowza! So much for clinical.

BLURB:

Focused on her career, Dr. JJ Jones doesn't have time to date—and she certainly doesn't want to date the "player" of the ER none other than her girlhood crush, Dr. Cruz Avery. JJ found out the hard way that romantic relationships in the work place don't mix forcing her to relocate back to Arizona and change jobs. She's determined to spend her free time enjoying her Harley, reading true-crime novels, and learning about the new community she lives in. Dogged by the gorgeous Dr. Avery with his skillful hands, disarming smile, and hot lips, her resolve wavers. For now, she's having fun making his mission to date her down right impossible!

My first crush ill call it as you don't know love at such a young age but to me at the time it was love was when I was 13. He had been my best friend since we were 7 and I guess feeling grew. We're still close now and was together until we was 17 but we wanted different things in life.
Spring is when my birthday is so I love it for that reason but the main thing I love is seeing all the flowers and trees coming back to life. The smells in the air and the sounds of the birds in the trees. :) email address is a_shaw1@hotmail.co.uk

Thanks Jessica!!

The first kiss I shared with my now husband was AWFUL. Neither of us was really ready for it and it was kinda off-center and hurried. But he got better with time and now he kisses like a dream. :) Have a great hop!

Remember my first kiss, so many years ago, at camp, sitting around the campfire with the cutest boy I had ever encountered.
Love spring, all the blooming flowers, everything turning green.

My first crush was in 3rd grade. Lots of girls had a crush on him too but I was the one assigned to sit next to him in class. He was cute but sometimes annoying specially when I was actually interested in the teacher's lesson.

Jan, boys can be annoying to little girls--that's how they show interest. Lol. Good luck in the hop!

Aha! Danielle I think I owe you a book!! Did you participatebin my scavenger hunt?

Ah first crush! I can remember it well. His name was Tommy and I believe I had a crush on him from third grade until 6th! It was a long crush, but alas, he was always into the "popular" girls, even at the young ages! His last name started with R, mine with S, which meant for all those years we were almost always seated near each other, lined up near each other, etc. (His "girlfriend, the popular girl, her last name started with a C!) We even used to spit spitballs at each other in Mr. Johnson's 4th grade math/science class. Then one day, in 6th grade my family moved away and that was the end of that. Too funny though how much is remembered! Since that was back in the 80's, it was quite some time ago!
Dating Impossible sounds really really good! I am looking for a few new series as well!! This would be perfect and I am heading to Amazon to check out it and the second one out as soon as I finish here! I quit smoking in November and my reading has gone way up since (far better thing to replace smoking with)so a new author to check out and new series is, well, awesome!
As for the spring thing, my very favorite thing about spring is opening up the windows again. I am starting to miss the fresh air!
Thank you for the chance to enter the giveaway and happy spring everyone!

My first crush was in highschool. He was a drummer in the band, and very smart. He wasn't my first kiss.. That was with my first "boy friend"... Our first kiss happened when I walked him to the corner with my little brother. So my little brother wouldn't see he said look at the squirel and than gave me a quick kiss.

I was a latchkey kid--wore my key on a purple shoelace around my neck. When I was about 9 or 10, Eddie Madden grabbed my shoelace and pulled me in for a wet, sloppy kiss. It was not the kind of kiss you read about in romance novels! LOL.

But quite the experience, no doubt. Lol

My first kiss was in kindergarden, but I'm never sure if that counts, it being kindergarden and all. He was shorter than me and wore one of those silly coonskin hats all the time. The experience was otherwise unremarkable :P

My first crush was a adorable friend named Kris. We called him Kringle because his last name rhymed with it. He had blue eyes with flecks of brown in one. He was so animated when he did anything that he charmed most of the girls. He was all I ever thought of in the 5th grade. He only thought of me as a friend in those days. I ended up being pen pals with him when he moved across the country at the end of the 5th grade.

Then when I was in college he came back to town for a few days for family business and we ended up going out on a real date. It was fun catching up with my first crush!

Thanks to Facebook we reconnected and still write each other from time to time.

My favorite thing about spring is everything seems to come alive again! Flowers bloom, trees bud, the landscape turns emerald green and life just feels sweeter!

Thanks for the chance! =)

That's a great story! I wonder what ever happened to my first crush??

I happened to marry my first love. We have been together for 19 years now. I knew he was the one for me the first time I ever saw him. I feel in love with his beautiful green eyes and ever since that day we met, we have never been apart. He is my best friend, and I can't imagine my life without him.

My first crush was with a young boy named Sean who was in second grade with me and went to my church also. My first kiss was with my next door neighbor. He was a year younger than me, a foot shorter and had asthma. I wasn't really impressed, lol.

MAN...what a cover. She looks hot. My wife has been reading romance lately and I have been enjoying the benefits. She said you were giving away a kindle so I had to comment. She has one but doesn't share. I think I might start reading some of these hot books to her and see what happens. Is that a good idea?

I married my first love when I was 17. I had three babies by the time I was 21. We were married for 42 years before he left me for another woman. Some of those years were good, but I've pretty much given up on love now...except for my three little dogs. They give unconditional love. I like spring so we can get out for long walks in the park. I also love to read so a kindle would be wonderful.

Great tease.

I don't remember my first kiss, guess it wasn't that great. But I do remember my first date with my hubby. 22 years and still going strong.

Thanks for being in blog hop.
